Restoring Harmony: Wisdom from Tibetan Healing Traditions

Course Description:
Healing begins when we learn to listen—deeply—to the body, the mind, and the rhythms of nature.

This weekend retreat with Menpa Tenzin Norbu offers an introduction to the principles and practices of Tibetan Medicine, a holistic system that views health as a dynamic balance between inner and outer elements. Drawing from centuries of wisdom, this approach invites us to understand the root causes of imbalance and to cultivate well-being through awareness, lifestyle, and natural remedies.

Through teachings, discussion, and optional individual consultations, participants will explore how physical health, emotional states, and environmental influences are interconnected. You will gain practical insights into supporting digestion, energy, and overall vitality, along with guidance tailored to your own constitution and experience.

The retreat will also include Medicine Buddha practice and guided meditation sessions led by Karen Russell, DCC Core Teacher, offering a contemplative space to connect with healing qualities of compassion, clarity, and inner balance.

This retreat is both educational and experiential—offering not only knowledge, but a space to reconnect with your own innate capacity for balance and healing.

Whether you are new to Tibetan Medicine or looking to deepen your understanding, this is a rare opportunity to learn directly from an experienced practitioner and integrate these teachings into daily life.

What is Dana? Teachers give the teachings of awakening (Dharma) freely so that anyone, no matter their financial means can attend classes. Each time one receives teachings, it is an opportunity to consciously practice generosity. Giving money and other means of support expresses gratitude and support to the teacher and helps to ensure that these teachings continue. Each person receiving Dharma teachings determines the kind and amount of Dāna according to one’s heart and one’s financial means. When deciding how much to offer, one should think about what these teachings mean to you and try to give accordingly. It is recommended that students make an offering of dāna at the beginning of a class or retreat to establish the intention to make the most of this opportunity for one’s own progression and for the benefit of all others.
