THE DHARMA CENTRE HAS MULTIPLE WAYS FOR YOU TO VOLUNTEER.

Become a ‘Server - Meditator’ for the duration of a Retreat.

Being a Server-Meditator offers individuals boundless opportunities to develop the first Parami: generosity, the foundation of the spiritual life.

A Quick Overview of the Server-Meditator Program:

  • Work four or six hours a day during a retreat alongside our Property or Kitchen staff in exchange for housing and access to the retreat environment.

  • Server-Meditators can attend courses/retreats without paying a registration fee. Your work supports  the retreat and offsets the fee.

  • It is beneficial to offer Dana for the teachings received while being Server-Meditator.

  • When not engaged in the work of service, time is available to attend classes and focus on your Dharma practice.

How Much Does being a Server-Meditator Cost?

In exchange for your work of 4-6 hours a day, you receive accommodation and nutritious meals at the Dharma Centre.

  • Week 1 & 2 – ( 4 hours per day, free accommodations and $25 per day for food)

  • Week 3 – ( max 6 hours per day, free accommodations and food)

  • Approval - submit form and interviewed by HR Committee
