Encouraging the Unseen to Appear
Retreat with Kim Sawyer
Anyone who perseveres in the practice of meditation inevitably comes up against their emotional patterns and states of mind that may be difficult to acknowledge.
These aspects, when left unheard, can narrow one’s awareness and creative potential and keep one cycling in repeated patterns and automatic responses.
The seeds of our past actions (karma) are embedded in us energetically which further limits our chance to expand the range of our consciousness.
Using methods of the Holistic Clearing meditation, as pioneered by Venerable Namgyal Rinpoche, and integrating with the traditional Vajra Sattva meditation, Kim will present a dynamic approach to address personal strengths and shortcomings in order to liberate the energy tied up in the subtle body.
The practice of Vajra Sattva is one of the practices of the extraordinary foundation work (Ngon Dro) and is considered a prerequisite to more advanced practices. It is a key practice for clearing one’s obscurations and roadblocks on the path.
This course will include:
Classes that provide theoretical background and instruction
Yoga / physical movement
Group sitting sessions with verbal guidance from Kim
Questions and answers, sharing of experiences

What is Dana? Teachers give the teachings of awakening (Dharma) freely so that anyone, no matter their financial means can attend classes. Each time one receives teachings, it is an opportunity to consciously practice generosity. Giving money and other means of support expresses gratitude and support to the teacher and helps to ensure that these teachings continue. Each person receiving Dharma teachings determines the kind and amount of Dāna according to one’s heart and one’s financial means. When deciding how much to offer, one should think about what these teachings mean to you and try to give accordingly. It is recommended that students make an offering of dāna at the beginning of a class or retreat to establish the intention to make the most of this opportunity for one’s own progression and for the benefit of all others.
