“A step forward often begins with a retreat”
Whether you are new to meditation or have some prior experience, this three day retreat will provide you the opportunity to experience the benefits of immersion into meditation practice.
Initially we will reflect on this precious opportunity to practice meditation and of the other factors that turn the mind towards Dharma. Using practices of focused concentration complemented with sessions of basic yoga exercises, the conditions will be conducive to calming the usually agitated mind. Having established calm, we will explore the states of mind, feelings and sensations that arise, and raise questions about their nature. States of absorption and insights may arise spontaneously as your practice deepens.
This type of focused experience can bring spiritual renewal and confidence, taking your meditation practice to a new level.
Kim Sawyer has been studying and practicing meditation for over 30 years. She is a graduate of the Dharma Centre’s three year Kin-mount Seminary and Academy, an intensive study and retreat pro-gram. She has done many deep retreats on mindfulness, tantric and insight practices.
Kim has taught many approaches to meditation over the past 15 years, and has previously led weekend retreats at the Dharma Centre.
