“Cultivating mindfulness can lead to the discovery of deep realms of relaxation, calmness, and insight within yourself. It is as if you were to come upon a new territory, previously unknown to you or only vaguely suspected, which contains a veritable wellspring of positive energy for self understanding and healing. The path to it in any moment lies no further than your own body and mind and your breathing.” Jon Kabat-Zinn
This weekend course is an invitation to explore well-being and self understanding. It will include elements of the MBSR (mindfulness-based stress reduction) program from the Centre for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. It will inform and include practice in meditation, mindfulness, and awareness of the body, through group and individual activity with time to relax and explore the beauty of this rural setting. The Dharma Centre retreat property in Kinmount provides a supportive environment to learn and practice without the distraction normally faced in our busy day to day life. Participants will have the opportunity to develop a mindfulness and meditation practice that can be integrated into their daily lives.
