Vancouver students' Puja and gathering Greetings in Dharma - Yesterday the beings here on the west coast from both Crystal Mountain and the Sunshine Coast gathered at 12h30 to hold a Puja for our beloved Teacher, Namgyal Rinpoche. It was held in a donated space, the Integra Yoga Centre. This was followed by a somewhat impromptu pot luck. It was a very positive get together with improvised altar - created in what seemed like 7 minutes - featuring beautiful thangkhas including Amitabha and VajraYogini. Also we put together a memorial table and beings brought their fvourite items and pictures depicting the life and travels of Rinpoche - some going way back to the mid-60's and earlier. We took a group photograph in front of the altar, and Nataha asked John de Jardin who is travelling to Kinmount for the ceremony November 2nd to bring a copy with him - so those of us unable for one reason or another to be there physically, can be present. We thought if you are also having a memorial/memorabilia table it could go there? We are thinking of you all at this extraordinary moment in time. Kia Ora! (Maori for Good Health!) from Dharma Japan Hi. Thank you for all of your communications. We have been conducting Pujas and meditations in Kyoto and Tokyo. We will be holding a previously planned retreat with 25 members here in Japan on the Weekend of November 2nd under the guidance of Doug Duncan. This seems to be the best way to honour the spirit of Namgyal Rinpoche given our distance and the circumstances. We will be there with you in spirit. Metta Paul Jaffe for Dharma Japan |
