  | Mala Sikka's journey through life has been a spiritual silk road with various destinations of dance, meditation and healing along the way, culminating in a tapestry of over twenty years of practice and teaching. She started her journey in the arts in 1975 which in turn led to her specializing in dance theatre and specifically the study Kathakali in Paris and Kerala in southern India. In 1985 her Zen master - John Garrie Roshi - gave her his blessing to teach Zen after many years of training. Mala has been practicing Healing-Shiatsu since 1991 through her busy practice in Cardiff, and now also practices Seiki-Soho there as a result of her studies with Japanese Master Akinobu Kishi. In 1997 Mala met The Venerable Namgyal Rinpoche who became a central inspiration and influence on all of her ongoing work from the many retreats under his guidance she has attended. In addition she has studied under the world renowned Dr. Shen Hongxung in Buqi and shamanic healers from Indonesia. Mala has been invited by a number of schools and Universities to hold in house seminars and has been involved with Community Arts organizations across the world. Mala has created numerous Multicultural Arts Projects including initiating the 'Twinning' between arts centers in Indonesia and Wales. Since her extensive training in 'Amerta' movement in Java with Master Suprapto Suryodarmo, her art of movement practice and teaching has taken on a greater focus in personal transformation to enable the true self to emerge into pristine awareness by transforming the energetic mind body dynamic in relationship to its natural environment.
